So far, it’s a good start to my recent technology implementations.

First, the new web page on edublogs is much prettier, and more complex while still being well organized. The kids seem to like it even with some of the same content.

To get the kids to be more interactive, I’m doing a dedicated IWT/Workshop time, and with new computers, and now have 7 available in class at a time, so I told them they have to write (make a comment, add something to questions and concepts) before they look at pictures. They are really in love with looking at themselves (in a good way).

Now, the big thing I was going to do was online homework help using Vyew. I only had two students show up this first evening, BUT that is pretty awesome considering that I’m working in a title 1 school that is on ALL free lunches, and in program improvement. These are not the “have” kids. Also, one of the girls is a social bee, so she will probably talk to EVERYONE in the class (and the upper grades) about it, bringing in more traffic.
