First, links to articles appear in the blogroll at the right under NCLB.
Okay, I’m trying out Diigo, and almost all the articles cited in my previous post are in there along with annotations. If you go there you should be able to see it under alicemercer, but if you can’t let me know. This is a new app for me, but it could be exciting?

Nice comments on NCLB. I’m preaching to the choir here, but NCLB is a prime example of my axiom that the further away from a local district that laws are written, the more unrealistic and out of touch they tend to be. Do I want accountability in school? Absolutely. However, I want that accountability to be to my parents and local stakeholders, not the White House.
BTW, I use a similar bookmarking service called del.icio.us. Looks like its very similar to Diigo. What I like about del.icio.us is that I have a Firefox extension that gives me a one-click option for adding a site to my list. This has come in handy when I’m in class and I need to quickly mark a class without missing any discussion.

Yes, I’ve been using deli.cio.us, but it doesn’t integrate to my blog as well. I like the annotation, and the Blog This features on Diigo. It is still in beta and crashed my IE a few time (what doesn’t?). Also it does have a toolbar for one click.

Wow…very cool, I might check that out soon.
And yes, I’m in Eastern Oregon. Pendleton/Hermiston area, to be exact. Lewis & Clark College in Portland does a cohort program in LaGrande, on the Eastern Oregon University campus. Makes it a little easier on those of us out here on the East side who wish to continue their education and get into school administration.

Oh, the Diigo toolbar is available to Firefox and Flock.

Ah, it’s a whole toolbar. I wonder if there’s an extension to just allow a right-click function for posting. The one I use for del.icio.us is pretty transparent that way. I will check it out, though, since it looks like it has some features that del.icio.us doesn’t.

It has a right click, etc. Let me know if you do, I’m looking for someone to play with on Diigo, so I get practice before I try it with the kids.
