Came across this post: TechnoMisogyny 2007 » The Future of Education ? Puh-lease! on on Ed Tech Talk Weekly. Can I say, I’m not impressed? First, the comment from G. Siemens shows how wrong she got the situation. Unlike Tim, who asked some hard questions, but pointed fingers at everyone (himself included), this post is just a spray of accusations. I don’t mind hard questions, and I think looking at the responses to Tim’s post his piece has gotten people thinking. This post though does not promote meaningful analysis or discussion. I’m sure it felt good to say at the time.

Also, am I the only one who is bothered by an anonymous blog, with no context of who this person is, or what they know and do, and then they want me to leave an email and name to post a comment? I think this is an object lesson in why anonymous posting is a bad idea generally since it leads one to intemperate words.

There are three not so anonymous authors. What bothers me about such accusatory postings is that such conferences are a reflection of society. Therefore the problem is with society rather than conferences in the edublogosphere. Remember however that behind every good man is a better woman. Maybe the real leaders work best in the shadows instead of featured in keynotes?
