Reflections on teaching

And the lightbulb went off…

Lo and behold I had one of those moments today. Administrators in my state are required to undergo technology training to renew their licenses, and my principal is in the midst of that training right now.

First, I had a great audience. As wonderful as he is,  my principal has a very quick mind, and really benefits from one-on-one instruction (if his instructor is reading this blog–this is no knock on you), but he loves to see new stuff, and is impressed by technology. He was assigned homework on looking at Google Docs and wikis. I showed him the Plain English videos, and he was like, “HEY, we can use this for collaborative documents like our site plan, etc.!” I’m going to preso the videos at a staff meeting in May.

    That is great.
I love that he immediately saw some possibilities and that that interest might draw in some of those teachers “on the fence” and hey, that might lead to more classroom use, and thus, students may have the potential to enter Web 2.0, too.
    Good luck
    Kevin
