I’m sorry, that circuit is busy

Okay, here is the point where I need to recognize commentors on my blog and say thank you for helping me make connections, and for helping make my blog a better place.

First up, Ken Rodoff, who blogs at the why of it all. He laments that he is one of the few edubloggers not invited to the Ed in ‘08 event in Washington, D.C. in a comment,  Sorry, no can do… | The Blog of Ms. Mercer where he includes a list of his current priorities which center around the twin baby girls that he and his wife have. I think Ken may be right at hinting that he is under-appreciated. I like his writing for the same reason that I love bloggers like Doug Noon , he has a great voice, even literary.  He doesn’t post prolifically, but each one seems like a jewel. Look at this fantastic post about a student’s report about NFL pensions, the why of it all: if you want to know, listen to LaJuan. Do yourself a favor and read it. It’s fantastic.

The most prolific and regular commentor on this blog is Keven H, who blogs at Kevin’s Meandering Mind. I can’t point to one comment because the nice thing about Kevin is how he seems to just add a certain something to the discussion, like here where he comments on another comment in a really constructive way.

Here are two occasional commentors who I would love to hear more from: Jackie Black who blogs at Continuities and Mark Pullen who blogs at The Elementary Educator.

My fellow bloggers at In Practice who provide a solid backbone of commentary here as well:

Brian Crosby

Doug Noon

Jennifer Orr

Jose Rodriguez

Larry Ferlazzo

Matthew Needleman

Michaele Sommerville

Thanks to all of your contributions!

I am a complete slacker in the connecting department. Sorry. But I do appreciate your accolade. I ‘feel’ connected, for whatever that may be worth. And I get..ah…distracted by a lot of tangential reading that comes from the links people refer me to.

Alice, You glue stuff together, and that’s really important. Found something here, today, in fact…It takes a village, etc.

(too bad Hillary said that, way back when…). Did you see the critique? (to put it mildly) she got from Olbermann?

Hey Doug, you were the one that pointed out that I had done a “sex change” on Nancy Cavallones in my Week in Sentence foray. That was an example of your great “dry” delivery. You should check out that post from Ken, you would LOVE the ppt that kid did.

Oopsie I did it again, gave JackieB the last name “Black” (musta been thinking of Jack). She doesn’t use it online, but she assures me that that’s not it .

*laughing* Thanks again. I will take this as my own comment challenge and do a better job at participating in the conversations.

Thank you, Alice, for giving me some props.
But your blog is inviting and engaging, and so the kudos head right back to you. (love the videos in your post today)
    Kevin

PS — and every time I come here and glimpse at what you are listening to (Modest Mouse!) and reading (Kim Stanley Robinson!), I think that your tastes are might fine.

Yeah, I’m back to romance novels this week, so don’t be too impressed.
