Dropping “NECC” is long overdue for an org that is an international org, since the “N” in NECC stands for “national.” Sort of a contradiction, don’t you think. But just calling the conference “ISTE” seems a bit strange. Wish ISTE had trusted the “wisdom of the crowd” and put it out on the Internet for input/discussion from everyone.

Well, most conferences are named after their organization (ASCD, CUE, etc.), so it’s not that unusual. I just hate change, and it’s bound to be confusing, especially if you are already unfamiliar with NECC, and ed tech conferences.

You say: “We’ll see if that extends to having the conference outside the U.S. in the future.”
I say: I won’t be holding my breath!

Do some of the non-US and non North American blogs have treads on this? I’m behind on reader since NECC, etc. Drop a link if you can.
